Today I was contacted by the Prosecutors Office that my employer had received a wage garnishment order from ECMC. I asked to be contacted by mail in an attempt to verify that the communications sent via fax and email were indeed from their organization.

Legally an student loan subscriber is entitled to dispute the amount of the loans submitted for collection and is entitled to a review by a hearing officer.

I was told I would be mailed a letter that would allow me to do this. Instead ECMC waited until the time elapsed and sent the wage garnishment. What happened to due diligence?

Mind you I'm still uncertain that the people that sent the fax and emails are from their organization. There are items on my credit bureau of student loans that were taken out in 1969. That phone number listed on my credit bureau is disconnected.

If this is ECMC contacting me they are not interested in providing due diligence and are pursuing collection for loans which legally may not be mine.

I have contacted another organization in an effort to seek help to resolve he current situation.

Reason of review: Problems with payment.

ECMC Cons: Due diligence denied, Aggressive and unethical pursuit of collection, Attributing debts of others to my account.

Location: 111 S Washington Ave #1400, Minneapolis, MN 55401, USA

ECMC is not willing to put anything in writing unless you sign a new contract with them. They refuse to contact by mail eventhough I updated my address on the Federal Student Loan website.

They are so unprofessional it's beyond belief. The balance on my student loans was decreasing, now it's increased. They have yet to provide me with any infotmation on what I owe or how my payments are applied. They also are showing the loans as closed eventhough they continue to take huge garnishments every month.

If you try to talk to them they are not interested in answering your questions. They are only interested in gathering information to collect more fees and interest. There is no recourse because of their carte blanche from the Federal government. All these complaints and yet they continue their unfair collection practices.

They faxed my personal information over the internet with my job and social security number. My job faxed it back without verifying who they were, eventhough any idiot knows a fax can be from anyone. Because of this practice, someone was able to *** my bankcard and my information was exposed on the dark web. Thanks ECMC, you're doing a stand up job of ruining peoples lives and credit, but yet you're slogan is here to help.

Whatever you do, donot let these people get their hooks in you. They ruin lives.

My situation is unresolved. The reason ECMC uses a different address and phone number on your credit bureau is to distract you into thinking it's fraud or scam.

The contact number is a disconnected phone number. While you're scrambling trying to protect yourself from fraud they set up garnishment. If you spent your time refinancing your student loans they can't collect fees. Their entire objective is to collect fees. They aren't interested in helping you with your loans or rehabilitation of your loan. They have Carte Blanche from the federal government and donot care about consumer complaints.ECMC has updated my credit bureau with new information, I haven't wasted time to verify it doesn't matter.

The federal government's refusal to monitor this organization renders you incapable of any defense from their unfair tactics.I've read complaint after complaint about how they've taken monies. So far I've received nothing to show how they calculated these huge balances. I have no idea what the interest rate is or how it's compounded. I have no idea how my wage garnishment is applied. They have no plans for repayment that donot include garnishment.

They garnish anyone who has a paycheck from an employer. Obviously if you're unemployed or self employed there's no way to impose garnishment.
